Harbin Ice Festival in China. China Built The World's Largest Ice City (Melts In 1 Month). I came to Harbin, a city of over 5 million people in northeast China. Harbin is very famous for its yearly Harbin Ice Festival. Millions of (mostly Chinese) tourists come to visit Harbin every winter to see the impressive ice city they built here. The whole area is about 800.000sqm large and it's super viral all over Chinese social media. The big problem though: It is also freezing cold in Harbin. The temperatures can get down to -30 °C/-22 °F. It's the coldest place I have ever been to! Will I be able to handle the cold? And how impressive is the Harbin Ice Festival really? Let's find out!
